Compliance Business Officer
Spendesk is on a mission to transform how finance teams work by creating intuitive solutions that make spending decisions faster and smarter. We’re looking for a Compliance Business Officer to join our Risk & Compliance team. In this role, you will support the business by providing practical, forward-looking compliance guidance across products, services, and commercial initiatives, helping ensure that innovation and growth remain aligned with regulatory expectations in a fast-moving fintech environment.
About The Role
As a Compliance Business Officer at Spendesk, you will play a key role in embedding compliance into business decision-making, product development, and day-to-day operations.
Reporting to the Director of Risk & Compliance, you will work closely with Product, Commercial, Operations, Legal, and other business teams to assess regulatory implications, provide actionable guidance, and support the design of compliant processes and offerings.
This is a highly cross-functional role that requires strong regulatory expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to balance compliance expectations with business needs in a pragmatic and collaborative way.
What You’ll Be Doing
Assess the regulatory implications of new products, services, and business initiatives, and partner with product and business teams to embed compliance requirements from discovery through development.
Identify potential compliance risks associated with existing or new offerings, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
Review and validate commercial and communication materials to ensure they are aligned with applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of compliance policies, procedures, and guidance in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
At least 3 years of experience in a similar compliance role within a financial institution, regulated fintech, payment institution, or e-money institution.
Strong knowledge of the regulatory framework applicable to fintech and payment services, with experience in advising business stakeholders on compliance matters.
Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into clear, practical, and business-oriented guidance.
Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to identify risks, exercise sound judgement, and formulate pragmatic recommendations.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
A rigorous, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach.
As we are an international team, please submit your application and CV in English.
